  13. Vendors who wish to distribute the FM StepUp package.

  15. The following paragraph is an extract from the license agreement
  16. regarding the distribution of the Shareware version of FM StepUp:

  18. 3. Distribution. You are allowed to make as many copies of the
  19. Shareware version of the SOFTWARE as you wish; give exact copies
  20. of the original Shareware version to anyone; and distribute the
  21. Shareware version of the SOFTWARE in its unmodified form, as long
  22. as the product is not distributed for profit (handling fees up to
  23. $5.00 ok). You are not allowed to bundle the SOFTWARE with other
  24. products without prior written permission from ChaoSoft. If you
  25. distribute the SOFTWARE, you agree to:

  27.   a) distribute all the associated files on the diskette together
  28.      as a group;
  29.  
  30.   b) send us, at least once a year, a copy of a piece of
  31.      promotional literature that you use to promote our programs;

  77. How many times you wanted to run a program with specific
  78. parameters through Run command of the File Manager and were forced
  79. to type all the command line options again and again? Ever wished
  80. the File Manager to have the ability to remember the previously
  81. entered command lines?

  83. How many times you copied files on a floppy and regretted not
  84. being able to quickly turn the VERIFY mode on to be sure that the
  85. information has been actually stored on the disk?

  88. non-standard extension (like README.NOW), and were forced to
  89. activate the Program Manager, open the Accessories group,
  90. double-click on the Notepad icon, click on File, then click again
  91. on Open... So many clicks and so many seconds spent just to take a
  92. look at a file! Why did the guys from Microsoft not make their
  93. software a little bit more convenient? Maybe Windows 4.0 will be
  94. finally a user friendly system?

  96. You don't need to wait so long. Just install the File Manager
  97. StepUp and your wishes come true! Here is the list of the features
  98. the File Manager gets with the FM StepUp:

  100. 1. The following standard File Manager's dialog boxes: Run, Create
  101. Directory, Search, Select Files, Label Disk, Format Disk, By File
  102. Type, are getting the 'History' fields remembering the strings you
  103. typed into the dialog boxes before. You are able now to recall any
  104. of them and edit it, if necessary, without typing from scratch.

  106. 2. The following dialog boxes: Move, Copy, Copy Disk, Make System
  107. Disk, are getting the 'Verify' check boxes which enable you to
  108. easily set the verify mode on or off (with the same effect as
  109. entering command VERIFY ON/OFF at the DOS command prompt) before
  110. performing the operations.

  112. 3. The following dialog boxes: Run, Move, Copy, are getting an
  113. additional button, 'Browse', in case you forgot the name of the
  114. file to execute or the directory to copy/move the files. And the
  115. Print dialog is now provided with 'Copy to PRN' check box, making
  116. you able to print quickly plain ASCII files.

  118. 4. All the dialog boxes of the File Manager are now displayed
  119. using 3D effects (like that of Excel and some other applications).

  121. 5. The main menu of the File Manager is getting a new item,
  122. StepUp, containing a number of additional commands:
  123.  
  124.    New File     - to instantaneously create a new file;
  125.  
  126.    View, Edit   - to view or edit the contents of a file with
  127.                 arbitrary extension;
  128.  
  129.    Special      - to perform some useful operations, such as
  130.                 calculation of the size of all the selected files
  131.                 and directories, including all the subdirectories;
  132.                 changing the date and/or time of the selected
  133.                 files; quick reloading the extensions, returning
  134.                 to DOS, restarting Windows, or rebooting the
  135.                 system;
  136.  
  137.    Preferences  - to customize the FM StepUp: change the default
  138.                 viewer and/or editor; set the size of the
  139.                 'history' lists; enable/disable Quick Menu; set up
  140.                 the desired appearance of the dialog boxes;
  141.  
  142.    Help         - to get detailed information on how to use the
  143.                 features of the FM StepUp.

  145. 6. The right button of the mouse is now used to activate the Quick
  146. Menu - a set of frequently used commands, so that you are able to
  147. spend less time executing them now.

  149. Try it - and you won't believe you worked without FM StepUp
